Die Pianistin und Organistin Katharina Königsfeld, geboren in Bamberg, entdeckte bereits im Alter von 6
Jahren ihre Leidenschaft für das Klavier und die Orgel. Sie studierte sowohl Klavier, als auch Orgel im
künstlerischen Hauptfach bei Prof. A. von Arnim und Prof. R. M. Stangier an der Folkwang Universität der
Künste, Essen.
Neben dem Solorepertoire beschäftigt sie sich ausführlich mit Kammermusik und Lied.
Musikalische Anregungen erhielt sie u.a. bei Christoph Eschenbach, Ian Fountain, Dirk Mommertz, Grigory
Gruszman, Lutz Brenner, Edgar Krapp und Erwan le Prado.
Einige Stationen ihrer regen Konzerttätigkeit stellen die Philharmonie Essen, das Konzerthaus Dortmund,
sowie die Jahrhunderthalle Bochum im Rahmen des renommierten Klavierfestival Ruhr, das Festspielhaus
Erl, das Kurtheater Bad Homburg, die Konzerthalle Bamberg, Stadthalle Wuppertal, das Freiburger Münster, Konzerthaus Wien und das Kurhaus Meran dar.
Gerne wird sie eingeladen auf der MS Europa zu gastieren.
Im Fach Lied arbeitete sie mit Musikergrößen wie Justus Zeyen, Jan Philip Schulze, Christoph Eschenbach
und Matthias Goerne.
Im Jahr 2015 wagte sie sich an die Uraufführung Hans Rotts Sinfonie, für Klavier transkripiert, die mit
Standing Ovations im Festpielhaus Erl bedacht wurde.
Mit der Geigerin Marie Claudine Papadopoulos und dem Cellisten Alexandre Vay bildet sie das Trio
`Klassik3`.
Sie arbeitet regelmäßig mit der Sopranistin Claire Elizabeth Craig und dem Bariton Oddur Jonsson
zusammen.
Katharina Königsfeld war 2014 - 2021 exklusiv bei Sony Classical unter Vertrag.
2018 übernahm sie die Künstlerische Leitung der Internationalen Orgelakademie Kitzbühel und rief den
Maria Hofer Orgelwettbewerb ins Leben.
Des Weiteren initiierte sie die Reihe KonzertKULTur im Schlosshotel Kitzbühel und kuratiert diese.
Gerne gibt sie ihre musikalischen Ideen bei Meisterkursen weiter und folgt Juryeinladungen.
Mit den Schauspielern Hans Sigl und Jakob Seeböck ist sie bei Musikalischen Lesungen zu hören.
Im Jahr 2024 brachte sie mit dem Melton Tuba Quartett Werke erstmalig für die Kombination Tuba Quartett
und Orgel zur Welturaufführung.
The pianist and organist Katharina Königsfeld, born in Bamberg, discovered her passion for the piano and
organ at the age of 6. She studied both piano and organ as an artistic major with Prof. A. von Arnim and
Prof. R. M. Stangier at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
In addition to the solo repertoire, she also works extensively with chamber music and lieder.
She has received musical inspiration from Christoph Eschenbach, Ian Fountain, Dirk Mommertz, Grigory
Gruszman, Lutz Brenner, Edgar Krapp and Erwan le Prado, among others.
Her busy concert schedule includes the Philharmonie Essen, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the
Jahrhunderthalle Bochum as part of the renowned Ruhr Piano Festival, the Festspielhaus Erl, the
Kurtheater Bad Homburg, the Konzerthalle Bamberg, the Stadthalle Wuppertal, the Freiburg Minster and
the Kurhaus Meran.
She is often invited to perform on the MS Europa.
In Lied, she has worked with musical greats such as Justus Zeyen, Jan Philip Schulze, Christoph Eschenbach
and Matthias Goerne.
In 2015, she ventured into the world premiere of Hans Rott's symphony, transcribed for piano, which was
met with standing ovations at the Festpielhaus Erl.
Together with violinist Marie Claudine Papadopoulos and cellist Alexandre Vay, she forms the trio
'Klassik3'.
She works regularly with the soprano Claire Elizabeth Craig and the baritone Oddur Jonsson.
Katharina Königsfeld was under contract exclusively with Sony Classical from 2014 to 2021.
In 2018, she took over the artistic direction of the International Organ Academy Kitzbühel and founded the
Maria Hofer Organ Competition.
She also initiated and curates the KonzertKULTur series at the A-ROSA Kitzbühel.
She enjoys passing on her musical ideas at master classes and responding to jury invitations.
She can be heard at musical readings with the actors Hans Sigl and Jakob Seeböck.
In 2024, she gave the world premiere of works for the combination of tuba quartet and organ with the
Melton Tuba Quartet
